The Rockies have optioned outfielder Zac Veen to Triple-A Albuquerque to make room for center fielder Brenton Doyle, who is returning from the bereavement list. Veen, the ninth overall pick in the 2020 draft, struggled in his brief stint in the majors, posting a .118 batting average over 12 games after a strong minor league showing, including a .387 average in Triple-A this year. Despite his recent challenges, Veen, who is only 23, has a solid minor league track record and may return to the big leagues in 2025.
